Most X-rays capture a single image while the patient remains still. Digital Motion X-Ray, or DMX, is different because it records X-ray images while the patient moves through specific motions. This allows the provider to see how certain joints and structures behave during movement.
DMX may be useful when evaluating certain injuries or concerns involving joint stability that may not be as apparent on a still image. When appropriate, the additional information from motion imaging can help your chiropractor better understand what is happening during movement and determine the best approach to care.
